Recently...

I've recently gotten a job last month, giving me more money to spend at thrift stores, but leaving me with less time to do so.

I have been to a couple thrift stores in the past month, but I ended up leaving without anything.

Yesterday I went to a used clothing store(similar to a Plato's Closet but they give you much more $$$ and it's in store credit).  I found a cute H&M grey sweater dress for $9.99.  I traded in a few items of clothing and got $20 in store credit so the dress was pretty much free.

I have had a lot of luck at normal stores... But this is a thrifting blog....

High Hopes...

Today I went to several thrift stores with a couple friends.  I went in with high hopes only to be let down by the very few things I found.

It was Wednesday so of course I had to go to a  Salvation Army.  This was a different one from last time...  All I walked out with an interesting piece of luggage, a creepy piggy bank/doll thing, and a shirt... I only got the shirt because it was 50 cents.

The only thing about this Salvation that I liked was that I used FourSquare to check in and I got a 10% newbie coupon.  While I was checking out I showed the employee my phone, he got the manager to ask him about it.  Both of them had no idea what to do since it was "a new thing".  My total should of been about $7, but the employee gave me everything for only $2.48!

The other thrift store I found something at was a place called Sunshine Thrift Store, I've always heard great things about it, but honestly I wasn't that impressed.  Yes, they had a large amount to look at.  Maybe I would of found more if I were looking at skirts since they had a huge selection.  But thier prices are great so I'll give them another try in a few weeks!  I think I spent about $2 on 2 shirts from because both of them were half off their tags.  Also this thrift store has a half off day once a month.  Just check their site sunshinethrift.com to see the dates.

The blue and the light green came from Sunshine Thrift, and the dark green is from Salvation Army.

This is the luggage piece, it came with a mirror inside so I'm assuming it was used to hold make up?  I might use it as an over night bag.
It also has a Delta Air Lines Sticker from Munich Germany on the top of it.
It would of been nice if it had came with the keys that belonged to it, but I guess I really don't have any reason to lock it.

And this is the creepy thing....

It I don't post again in the next two weeks it's because it has come alive in the middle of the night and killed me.

While browsing lotions...

Lately my hands have been overly dry. I've tried using my regular body lotion but it just left my hands a greasy mess.

I was at Walmart last night and saw this.

Personally, I really like the eos egg shaped lip balms. I had no idea they came out with hand lotion, and I just had to try it! The packaging is cute. They hand an unscented version(blue colored bottle) but I decided on the green one to match my lip balm. Also I like the smell of cucumber, even though actual cucumbers don't smell like anything...

The bottle is a perfect size to fit in a makeup bag or your purse. And your pocket... If you really wanted to keep lotion in your pocket?

OK so the back of the box says"...fit in your purse, your pocket, or your desk..."

The directions say "Smooth on. Touch. Smile.", but I advise you to use no more than a pea sized amount, and rub your hands together, then touch it if you want to.

The formula is very lightweight, and not greasy at all! The scent is subtle which is nice. I hate when the scents in hand products are over whelming, then everything you eat for the next 5 hours is unappetizing because all you can smell is your wild berry coconut lemon lime mango hand lotion.

This lotion was on sale for only $1.97

A Salvation Army Trip!

Today I went to the Salvation Army (13815 Salvation Army Lane, Tampa, FL).

Wednesdays are half off of clothing day so I was determined to find something.
My trip wasn't as successful as I had hoped but I got 2 ugly sweaters!  I'm actually pretty excited to wear the snow man one...  Sorry in advance for the picture quality I'll use my camera next time!

This pink beaded sequin sweater was only $1.99. The sequin "Pink Ladies" on the back seems to be a DIY job.

Christmas Sweater- $.99. I will be wearing this very often this December.

Because of the half off sale, my total came to $1.48!

After the Salvation Army I went next door to another thrift store called Community Thrift, it's right across from Paul Mitchell The School.  I DO NOT ADVISE GOING HERE.  A few times I have left with my eyes burning from the strong odor of bleach.  It's dirty and the staff is some what rude.

I did manage to find something to buy.
Glitter Makeup bag- $1.21

I also got a Lion King CD, but that's staying in my car ;)
